His sire, De Niro (pictured below) is a Hanoverian stallion who is becoming one of the most sought-after sires in Germany. He is a big, strong, athletic horse with a very friendly disposition. In 2000 De Niro was declared the best new generation Grand Prix dressage horse, having won at Prix St. Georges, Intermediare I and II and Grand Prix - all at the age of seven! He can also jump, and was considered one of the best jumping stallions at the Verden stallion market in 1995. He was Reserve Champion of his Stallion Performance Test with the best dressage performance. De Niro was awarded the I-a main premium by the Oldenburg Association in 1997 as a result of his overwhelming breeding value rating.
De Niro already has more than 60 approved sons. His offspring are highly popular all over the world reaching top prices at all auctions. At the German Young Horses’ Championship in 2005 his offspring were highly successful. His son Daily Pleasure ( dam by Ehrenmarsch) became German Champion of the 4 year old dressage horses. In.2004 in addition to two vice-champion stallions De Niro also presented the champion stallion at the stallion licensing in Verden, named Dancier. In 2005 In Verden De Niro (dam sire) presented the top-priced (800,000 Euro) stallion champion. In 2006 with 14 descendants De Niro presented the highest quota at German Young Horses’ Championship in Warendorf and returned to Grand Prix sports.
The Sire Donnerhall, was a most outstanding stallion combining a sports career at international Grand Prix level with a remarkable breeding performance Hardly a stallion has had a greater lasting influence on contemporary German dressage sport and the breeding of dressage horses than that of the recently deceased Donnerhall. The liver chestnut Oldenburg stallion was a German champion and came third in the world freestyle championships. He was also team world champion in The Hague in the Netherlands. He moreover came individual third and team champion at the 1997 European dressage championships in Verden. In 1998 he became team world champion in Rome. The dam Alicante, herself a successful dressage horse, earlier produced the full De Niro brother Dimension, who has a fine reputation as a sire in Westphalia. Donnerhall is pictured below;
The dam's sire Akzent II was regarded as one of the best producers of rideability in modern day horse breeding. He has frequently made the news by his presentation of sensational stallion sons and expensive auction horses. He is also the dam's sire of stallions, apart from De Niro and Dimension, the esteemed sires Gralshueter, Carismo, Welton, Trend, Pik Labionics, World Man G, Grannus As and Gracieux. The pedigree is strengthened by the performance thoroughbred Wiesenbaum xx, who established his position through his sons Wiesengrund, Wittelsbach and the legendary sire Ferdinand. The dam line is identical in its origins to that of the stallion Dewett (Zweibruecken state stallion), Gomez (Dillerburg state stallion), Laurion (private stallion Oldenburg), Wapiti (Celle state stallion) and Wogenbrecher (private stallions Westphalia). This dynasty is also represented by the international showjumper Landdame (Franke Sloothaak) who is Laurion’s full sister.
Delano's dam is a fabulous mare by the great Florestan. Florestan I is the outstanding dressage ambassador of the Westphalian Studbook. He was the champion of the 1988 Rhineland approval and the champion of his performance test in Warendorf in 1989. The bloodlines of Florestan's grandsire, Furioso II, are recognized by even the most casual breeder. Furioso II was so popular that his bloodlines can be found in practically all of the German and European riding horse breeds. In North Rhine Westphalia, the Furioso II son Fidelio has played a predominate role in spreading his sire's genes through his sons, Florestan I and II. Florestan's dam, Raute, is a proven show mare in the Rhineland area. At the age of 3 she was champion mare of her age group. In 1983 she won her class at the German Mare show in Verden, and in 1986 she was champion junior mare at the federal show in Aix-la-Chapelle. The grand dam is the state premium mare, Gode, a full sister to the Warendorf state stallion, Gardist. This bloodline, whose roots trace to the traditional Hanoverian state of Hänigsen, also produced the 1998 Bundeschampionate winner, Roman Nature, as well as a large number of successful competition horses.
Florestan I has proven himself to be a fantastic sire. He has over 23 approved stallion sons and over 37 State Premium daughters. His offspring are particularly noted for their exceptional 'rideability', and consistently bring in huge sums at the major auctions. Florestan I has been in the top positions in the FN breeding value ratings for a number of years running. Florestan's progeny include Fidermark, a four-year-old champion at the Bundes championate and now a Grand Prix performer. His daughter Ferrara won the five year old class at the Bundeschampionate and went on to compete at Prix St Georges level with Isabell Werth. At the 2002 Bundeschampionate, Florestan had 5 representatives including the 4-year-old stallion winner, French Kiss. French Kiss went on to win the World Young Dressage Horse championship for 6 year olds in 2004. Florestan I is also the sire of the wonderful Florencio (pictured above left), twice World Champion Young Dressage Horse, who achieved the highest marks ever awarded to a dressage horse, including a perfect 10 for his canter in both World Championships. Susanne Rimkus, head of the State Stud at Warendorf says about Florestan "Florestan has a very large percentage of good foals…he is a 'stamp' stallion, he stamps his foals, nearly all of them have the type of their sire…The other thing is that the Florestans are easy to handle, easy to ride…this is the most important thing for the normal market…Florestan will also produce top sport horses."
Delanos dams dam is an "Elite" graded dressage mare by the great Rubinstein!! Who needs no introduction as one of the worlds most high sought after and recognised dressage breeding lines! Rubinstein is pictured below;
