Week Orchard Performance Horses is set in the rolling hills of the West Country. They say the soils here are some of the best in the world for rearing youngstock due to the high protein levels and wealth of available nutrients to grow and develop. The stunning secluded location just 5 miles from the coast provides for an idyllic setting for breeding and raising youngstock
Here at Week Orchard we ensure the youngsters and broodmares live in as natural a way as possible. As nature intended they graze in groups 24 hours a day, playing and just being horses. This strengthens tendons and muscles in young horses, as well as educates manners and social skills from older mares. In winter all horses are rugged, they have access to large barns and haylage to supplement the grass. All year round they are fed balanced diets and nutrients to support growth, being very careful not to push growth.

All horses are visited by the farrier regularly, inoculated and wormed on time to a strict routine. Youngsters are halter broken and taught to be handled sensibly, but never over handled.
Time after time visitors and purchasers comment on how happy, friendly and sensible the horses at Week Orchard appear.
Our goal...
We select only horses with top class pedigrees and our goal is to breed Top class performance horses primarily dressage horses with ability to compete at the top with trainable temperaments suitable to both the professional and non-professional rider, whilst having correct conformation. We find pedigrees are exceptionally important in producing such high caliber horses and are studied in depth both stallion and dam.

Our broodmares include some of the most famous in the world direct daughters of Donnerhall, Florestan, Weltmeyer, Singulord Joter, Royal Angelo, De Niro, Wesley, Gribaldi, Sandro Hit, Sunny Boy, Atlantus, Fuego, Fulton and the list goes on!

And 2 resident licensed stallion Richelshagen by the great Rubinstein and a coloured stallion Euro Teun by the famous Samber
In addition to breeding i also constantly search for other stock with talent and interesting breeding lines which i feel will be an asset to both the stud, British breeding and equestrian performance. If i do not have what you are looking for i might know where to find it, so please give me a call and discuss.
Primarily our foals, youngstock and mares are graded to obtain the superior Dutch KWPN or German Oldenburg, Hannoverian, Westfalian breed papers proving their breeding is in line with the best of Europe. Putting youngstock on such papers opens the doors to europe to be licensed stallions and performance tested mares if the owners so wish to pursue.

Dara is by the all time great sire Donnerhall. Many believe that the legendary stallion Donnerhall has single handedly reshaped the dressage breeding world. Today many of the top stallions feature his breeding lines. His success and influence lives on after his death. Unfortunately his semen did not freeze well and thus what remains with us today is perhaps all that is left of the great horse, and thus his blood is highly sought after all over the world.He is pictured below:
Daras breeding is further strengthened in the dam line through Rainette who is by the westfalian stallion Romanow. Romanow is by Romadour II, characeterised as one of the most significant of modern Westfalien sires. Most notably he was famed through Rosenkavalier which is the sire of the another great, off course Rubinstein! Romadour II is pictured below;
